The issues leading to Brown v. Board of Education
2.10 Separate But Equal-Doll Test
After reading the Cases leading to Brown v. Board ( 2.8 Equal Protection Cases leading to Brown v. Board )and watching the Separate but Equal Doll Test comment on the NAACP's evidence to define that segregation violates Equal Protection Clause.
Discussion Question:
- Do Segregated Schools violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment?
- How does the ruling in Brown contrast with the Court's ruling in Plessy?
- What is Brown II and why was it needed?
Brown v. Board of Education II (often called Brown II) was a Supreme Court case decided in 1955. The year before, the Supreme Court had decided Brown v. Board of Education, which made racial segregation in schools illegal. ... In Brown II, the Court ordered them to integrate their schools "with all deliberate speed."
