Introduction to Otter for Education
Otter for Education: Basics
The CSM DRC will soon be offering Otter for Education to students.
On this page I'll give you an overview; click the Next button below to move through the module for more Otter "how to" information.
Here's what you need to know:
- The Otter app is available on the Apple App Store Links to an external site. and on Google Play Links to an external site..
- The online interface for Otter works with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge (it does not work with Microsoft Internet Explorer or Apple Safari).
- Otter will record anything that it picks up with a microphone. This means it can be used on laptops or computer systems (with a mic) and also on a smartphone or tablet. You need to play the video's audio through your computer's speakers; if you have your headphones plugged in, the online version of Otter won't be able to record audio for videos or other recorded media.
- You can use the online interface for Otter to record live Zoom sessions. I describe the Otter Assistant later in this module.
Mobile App Demo
The Otter.ai app is pretty easy to use to use, and the interface is very visual. Check it out:
