Turn on your microphone (when it's in Sleep mode) | "Wake up" or "Listen to me" |
Put microphone into Sleep mode | "Go to sleep" or "Stop listening" |
Get a list of available voice commands | "What can I say?" Then, to search the Help box, say "Show navigation commands," "Show correction commands," "Show formatting commands," "Show punctuation commands," or "Open Help." |
Launch a program in Windows | "Start program name" - for example, "Start Google Chrome" or "Start Microsoft Word." |
Open the Windows Start menu | "Click Start" |
Open the Windows Control Panel | "Open Control Panel" |
Open Settings or other utilities | "Open Control Panel" then "Click Settings" (for example). |
Close or minimize an active window | "Close window" or "Minimize window" |
Mouse - or pointer - control on the screen |
"Move mouse up [or down]" |
Click an icon on the Windows Desktop |
"Click name of item" Tip: To open a Word document named "Cool Beans" via a desktop shortcut, say, you would use "Double click Cool Beans." This works just like double-clicking with your mouse. |
