Step 2.2: Clean Up on Aisle Pages
Goal for Step 2.2
Now that we've cleaned up our module structure, let's take a closer look at the main content of our modules, our pages. For the steps below, we'll be moving between the All Pages area (Pages > All Pages) and the Modules area, but our goal is the same: delete or consolidate wherever we can, make sure our pages are in the right order within our modules, and apply a naming/numbering convention to makes easier to navigate.
Step 2.2 Tasks
Clear Out Check
- Go to Pages on the left and then click on All Pages at the top left. As you go through your Pages list, delete any pages that you don’t use anymore. Remember, those are saved in our backup course if we ever need them again.
Sequence Check
- Return to your modules page and check the sequence, or order, of your pages within each of your modules. Re-order, consolidate or remove wherever needed. Remember that removing a page from a module does not delete it; you'll need to return to the All Pages area to delete pages from your course.
- Bonus Tip: As you're looking at the sequence of pages within each of your modules, consider if your modules would benefit from the addition of Text Headers Links to an external site..
- If, in reviewing the sequence of your pages, you notice that the content in your Getting Started module is out-of-date, consider importing the current Getting Started module template and filling it in with your information so it can replace the old version.
Naming/Number Check
- Add a numbering convention to the beginning of your page titles, so that you see them in course order in the All Pages area and so that students have another visual cue of the order of the pages in your modules.
- Bonus Tip: Renaming your pages might be easier to do from the Modules page so that you can see which module a page is in and which order they’re in as well. This can also help to identify pages that are not currently in use; if you rename all pages in your modules, you'll more easily be able to see the pages missing that naming convention on the All Pages area.

- Best Practice: Start page titles with numbers based on the module they belong to and their page order to get all pages listed in course order.
