The tasks below will allow to complete some components of your course structure overall, like your course navigation menu and your course calendar.

- Clean up your course navigation menu

- Bonus Tip: There are many navigation links that you won’t be using and that students don’t need to see. Disable all of them except Home, Announcements, Syllabus, Modules, People, Grades, Zoom and Panopto Video. You can always re-enable any others that you need later. Be sure to double check your navigation menu each semester, as new links may appear that you need to disable.
- Clean up your course calendar
Links to an external site., by clicking Calendar on the far left in the global navigation menu. Look for events from last semester, duplicate Zoom meetings, and also to see your assignments laid out over the semester. Remove or update anything that isn’t correct for your current semester.
- Bonus Tip: You might not use this area of Canvas much, but students often do, so its important to at least check it to make sure everything there is correct.
- Clean up your gradebook settings and views.
- Bonus Tip: Look through the How do I use the Gradebook? Canvas Guide Links to an external site. for a quick refresher on all the current features of the gradebook. You might be surprised to find something that could really save you a lot of time.
- Clean up broken links throughout your course with the Link Validator

- Bonus Tip: This is a great way to find any embedded files, images or pages, that might have been broken when you were doing your deleting and re-organizing.
