Pull Text from a Web Page into Kurzweil 3000 Online

If you've used Kurzweil Read the Web before, you will notice a new Highlighter icon in the browser extension's toolbar. Kurzweil has added a way for you to highlight text from any web page, then export it into a new study guide within Kurzweil 3000 Online.

How to Export Text to Kurzweil 3000

  1. On any web page, launch the Read the Web browser extension (as noted on the previous page, this is available for Firefox and Chrome).
  2. Log in with your Kurzweil user name and password.
  3. Click the yellow highlighter icon on the right.
  4. In the Highlighter Tools box, select the color you wish to use.

Note: "Interactive Mode" lets you select different colors as you move through a page. Pretty cool!
  5. Highlight the text you want to export.
Note: You can highlight as much as you want, but you cannot select text by dragging across more than one paragraph at a time.
  6. Click the highlighter icon to open Highlighter Tools again, and then click the Outline button.
  7. Voila! A new browser window will open, automatically loading Kurzweil 3000 and displaying your new study guide.
