Here's how to create a vocabulary study guide:
- Use the Highlighter to select words that you don't understand.
- Open the File menu at the top of the screen, then select the Extract option.
- Click "Extract Highlights to Vocabulary Study Guide" in the menu that pops out.
- In the "Open Column Notes" box, select "Open a new notes file" and click OK.
- Your new vocabulary study guide will appear at the bottom of the Kurzweil window. To close the guide and save it, click the little X on the top right of the vocabulary study guide pane, then select Yes in the pop-up window and follow the prompts.
Quick Alternative: Check the Dictionary
Kurzweil 3000 includes a built-in dictionary. Here's how to use it.
- Double-click a word to select it, then click the Dictionary icon on the left (it looks like a book with a magnifying glass on it).
- The definition pops up in a new window. You can click the Play button to have it read to you.
