Module 4 | Excel | Row and Column Headers
Tables in Excel
While many authors try to indicate a table header row by changing its appearance (e.g., font and background color), a change of this type provides little or no information about the structure of the table. A document that relies entirely on visual formatting will, when converted to HTML or PDF, lack the structural information needed by readers who use assistive technology.
- Set header row properties to ensure accessibility
- Use tables that don't contain split cells, merged cells, or nested tables
Specify Column Header Info
- Highlight the cells to be included in the table
- On the Insert tab, in the Tables group, select Table
- Select the My table has headers check box
- Select Ok
