Tech Tools for Learning

What Are Assistive Technologies?

The term "assistive technology" refers to anything that helps you perform a task. For example, you may wear glasses to help you see better. If you sprain your wrist, you may use dictation software like Google Voice Typing to write your papers. If you have dyslexia or your eyes get tired easily, you may use a text reader like Kurzweil 3000 or NaturalReader to have your books read out loud to you. And so on. There are many tech tools that support your unique learning needs.

In this module we give you an overview of the tech tools that are available from the Skyline EAC, and then we will tell you about assistive technologies that are built right into all computers these days.
