Meet Our Staff

Who We Are

Charmaine Cortez is the Alternate Media Specialist at the Educational Access Center. She is responsible for providing textbooks and/or documents in enlarged format or converting them for use with the text-to-speech software program Kurzweil 3000. Charmaine loves spending time at home and taking her dog Forrest out for walks.

Melissa Matthews is the Coordinator and Counselor for the EAC. Melissa enjoys working with students to support their success at Skyline. While not on campus, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and baking.

Sharon Meyer is the Staff Assistant for the EAC—and she not only assists the staff, but also students and visitors. When she is not helping people by making appointments and answering general questions, you can find her behind a camera lens or in front of a stove, as those are also her passions.

Celia Pender is the EAC Math and Chemistry Tutor. She has been tutoring at Skyline College since 2013. Aside from loving math she is passionate about rock climbing and exploring the outdoors. When she had more time she used to paraglide in the Sierra foothills.

Jessica Truglio is the EAC Learning Disability Specialist. Basically, this means that she can help students understand how they learn best, and then help them with strategies and accommodations to help them reach their academic goals. Jessica lives in Emeryville and loves walks along the bay, photography, and museums, as well as true crime podcasts and documentaries.
