1.3 - Start Adding Content to Your Course
Now that you've set your course structure, you can start adding content to your course. The two most helpful content types to add to your Canvas modules are Files and Pages. We will get into adding adding assignments and quizzes on the next page, for now we're just thinking about content, like your syllabus, readings, lectures, study guides, etc.
Adding Files
We recommend adding your files directly into the module where they belong, so that you can be organizing your course as you go. But you can also use the Files area in your course to create folders to organize your files first and import large numbers of files at once. We will go over both methods, and you can choose the one that works for you.
Watch the video guide below on how to add files to your course. After watching the video, return to your course and import all the files that students will need access to.

Adding Pages
Pages are great way to add custom content to your course, and to give context to links, readings and videos that you want students to review. Pages can include text, video, audio clips, math equations, images and links (to websites, files, and other pages that you have created in your course).
Watch this video guide learn how to create and use pages in your course. After watching the video, return to your course and create any pages that you think you'll need in your course.
