Instructions

Purpose and Objectives:

  • Short quizzes scattered throughout the semester to encourage students to keep up with the weekly assigned materials according to the Weekly Topics and Schedule.
  • Students will demonstrate their knowledge, analysis and critical thinking through the assigned quizzes.
  • There will be four quizzes throughout the semester. You will not be tested on “low level facts,” such as names and dates or finite details, but rather over arching themes, concepts and arguments evident in the assigned materials.

Logistics:

    1. You should expect questions from all assigned materials leading up to each quiz: Quiz #1 (from beginning of course through quiz #1 completion date); Quiz #2 (materials from quiz #1 through Quiz #2 completion date); etc.
    2. Quiz #1 will consist of 10 questions, Quizzes #2 and #3 will consist of 15 each; and Quiz #4 will consist of 20 questions.
    3. The quizzes are timed and you will have approximately 3 minutes per question to complete the quiz. It is considered "open book", but with a time limit I encourage students to study before beginning the quiz.
    4. If you mark an answer, you still have a chance to go back and change your answer at the end of the quiz.
    5. After the last question, make sure and press FINISH and SUBMIT, at which point you will not be able to make any changes or corrections.
    6. Once you start the quiz the clock begins to tick and there is no pause button, so you will need to study before hand.
