Unit and Weekly Structure and Time Commitment

Weekly Structure and Time Commitment:

This is an on-line course and we will be utilizing Canvas for assigned work and overall communication between students and instructor. Each week the instructor will post instructions and announcements regarding your assignments. For each Unit you should expect:

  • Instructor Lecture (Power Point/Key Note) introducing topic for each unit (15-30 minutes).

  • Assigned readings (2 or 3 articles/chapters = 30-40 pages each/roughly 40-60 minutes per reading).

  • Media sources -documentaries, news clips and radio interviews (2 to 3 hours).

  • Discussion Forums and Quizzes (1-2 hours).

*Note that simply logging-in is not effective participation. You must engage the course with meaningful and substantive participation to stay enrolled in the course.
